Choose my internship
The discovery course offers to introduce you to the activities of the La Cense Method courses, in a condensed one-day format. You handle a horse, during a work session on foot, then you ride. You discover the ethology, during an introduction in the dining room.
The horse ethology and observation course is dedicated to understanding the behavior of the horse. It does not involve horse handling or horse riding. You will discover and deepen your knowledge of the horse, indoors and during observations, from a distance, of horses in herds and in specific situations.
This internship does not require any previous level of practice, nor any specific knowledge. You can participate without having ever seen a horse. At no time will you be put in situations that can cause fear. The horses are always at a distance, you do not handle them.
This course is extremely accessible and does not require any specific equestrian level. The important thing is not to have developed any particular phobia. If you are very afraid of riding a horse, for example, La Cense recommends that you follow the Education on foot course directly, which does not include a mounted part. The progression of the Method will allow you to develop your confidence and if you wish, to take the next step.
Track progress
The pedagogical progression of the La Cense Method begins with the presentation of fundamental principles, which are useful throughout your learning. These are theoretical bases, an approach to the horse as a whole, within a defined framework; and technical basics, such as handling the equipment, the ability to master your body language and position, as well as the implementation of automatic mechanisms in interactions with the horse. La Cense therefore recommends taking the La Cense Method courses, starting with the Education course on foot.
This question deserves to be studied on a case by case basis. In general, La Cense recommends following the progress from the start, with the education course on foot. It is essential to validate a stage perfectly before moving on to a higher stage. This requires a perfect understanding of all the concepts implemented and a transparency of vocabulary between teacher and rider. To avoid any misunderstanding or oversight, it is simpler to start your training course, in an educational environment, from the start. It is possible that there are a few repetitions, but they often allow you to build your progress, on solid foundations, to advance faster and go further.
It is perfectly possible to follow the progress of the La Cense Method, only on the ground content, with the Education on foot, Freedom and Expert freedom courses.
The walking approach, with defined objectives and marked progression, requires a new awareness of his body attitude, his positioning vis-à-vis the horse and the means used to communicate with him. This learning phase is all the more interesting for people used to working with horses, because they are discovering new sensations. They quickly transpose these new techniques when they pass on horseback.

exams
The 5 ethological knowledge are examinations of the French Equestrian Federation. Their program has a theoretical part and a practical part. The practical part is defined by broad objectives, without imperative on the techniques to be used to reach them.
The 8 degrees La Cense are the exams corresponding to the levels of progression of the La Cense Method. Their program is exclusively practical. For each degree, it is requested to carry out between 15 and 20 exercises. These techniques make it possible to achieve the practical objectives of ethological knowledge. Read more

Horse education
La Cense riders do not move. After discussion with the technical team around the problem encountered, it is possible to bring your horse to La Cense and benefit from a supervised work session or put your horse to work for a defined period.
There are no rules on this. It depends on the nature and characteristics of the horse as well as the level of requirement of the owner. In the case of cleaning, the Cense recommends a pre-cleaning of approximately 15 days, to 2 years, then a cleaning of one month to three years, for use by a professional or an amateur of sufficient level, supervised by a professional.
There is no rule in this matter. It depends in particular on the age of the horse, its characteristics, its level of education as well as the nature and the history of the problem. Before any treatment, the Cense recommends establishing a complete health check of the horse. La Cense diagnoses problems, only for horses aged 6 and under. Depending on the conclusions, the team suggests ways to develop the horse or put it to work at La Cense, for a defined period, under the conditions of the stripping pension.
La Cense recommends to dissociate the learnings of the horse and the rider. It is essential to make as few mistakes as possible during cleaning. Therefore, the education of the horse by a professional guaranteed, to the maximum, its success. You can perfectly train yourself, in parallel with the La Cense Method, used in stripping. This allows you to master the codes put in place by the professional, during the education of your horse and to benefit as well as possible, from the lessons learned.
La Cense accepts whole, only in the context of stripping and recovery pensions.
